Baar, the escape artist - Emily Posts

Hello! Baar isn't able to write today as he is too worn out from yesterday's adventures. Baar managed to escape from the crate. Joe and I made an error in putting it together and he managed to break free.

While he was out he chewed up some of the carpet remants his crate was on (although that might have happened in the course of the great escape). Baar also peed on the couch but it looks like he did that while in the crate. Baar doesn't usually write about these things so I'll let you in on a secret - it's only the 3rd time he's peed in doors. I actually think is good considering he was outside for a number of months before we fostered him.

Baar also made it up to my bedroom - a normally off limits area - and of course snacked on the cat food and drank their water. He then climbed up into my bed and chewed apart one of the mini blinds on a window next to it.

Baar met us at the door wagging his tale like crazy when we got home from work. We didn't yell at him, just got to work reasemballing the crate, cleaning up and finding Enid and Ezra.

Both cats are just fine - Enid was caught downstairs and came out from under the couch as soon as I took Baar out. Ezra was upstairs on my dresser and came right down for Ezra snacks

If anyone out there reading this is considering fostering, don't let this discourage you at all. Baar is a handful and not all dogs are. However, Joe and I adore him and are enjoying the experience. It's fun to see how fast his behavior is improving thanks to Karen's input. He is a super sweet dog. Plus we have Melanie around, who is extremely supportive and helpful.
